The new Area C Official Community Plan has been consolidated with the Harrison Mills Neighbourhood Plan and the Lake Errock Gravel Pit Redevelopment (now the Lake Errock Neighbourhood Plan) and will be considered by the FVRD Board as a single bylaw. Moving forward, updates for all three Area C Projects will be provided on this Have Your Say page.

Meeting summaries, technical reports, and staff reports produced during each of the Neighbourhood Plan consultation processes before July 2024 can be found on the respective Have Your Say project pages.

FVRD is updating the Official Community Plan (OCP) for Electoral Area C. The plan area spans from the Harrison River to the east of Deroche and includes, Morris Valley, Harrison Mills, Lake Errock, and eastern portions of the Deroche Bench. Read below to see how you can get involved.

The existing OCP was adopted in 2000 and the vision set out by the community has largely been realized. We need your ideas to draft a new plan that will guide future growth in Area C for the next 20 years.

The new OCP will:

  • Identify the overall land use plan for Area C
  • Identify potential growth areas to meet housing demand
  • Include updated geohazard information
  • Update environmental policies
  • Consider short-term rental policies
  • Include priorities raised by the community
