Exciting news – the Fraser Valley Regional District has received grant funding from the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) to undertake a Complete Communities Assessment for parts of Electoral Areas A and B!
The Complete Communities Assessment is an exciting initiative that looks at making our Fraser Canyon communities even better places to call home. We're taking a close look at what makes a community truly "complete" – things like having a variety of housing options, local job opportunities, and access to everyday services and amenities.
Here's what we're doing for the Canyon communities:
We're examining the current housing situation, including what types of homes are available and what our community needs.
We're exploring ways to create more diverse employment opportunities.
We're assessing the services and amenities that are essential for daily life.
We're looking at how we can make it easier for people to get around.
Why is this assessment so important? It’s about planning for a brighter future. By understanding what our communities need, we can make smart decisions about how to grow and change in ways that benefit everyone. This study will help us create communities where people of all ages and backgrounds can thrive, with access to affordable housing, good jobs, and the services they need closer to home.
We're excited to hear from you, too! Take the survey now and you could win a $100 gift card!
Your input is crucial in shaping the future of our Fraser Canyon communities. Together, we can build vibrant, sustainable places that we're all proud to call home.

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) has received funding from the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) to undertake a Complete Communities Assessment for the Fraser Canyon communities. This Assessment aims to understand how to make these communities even better places to live, work, and play by looking at the area from four different perspectives:
Housing
Transportation
Infrastructure
Daily Needs
By analyzing these four perspectives, the FVRD wants to learn how the communities between Choate and Boothroyd might be improved. The Assessment will examine housing options, local job opportunities, and access to daily services. This Assessment will also help to identify what is working well in the Canyon communities and where there may be opportunities for improvement.
Much of the Complete Community Assessment process is a technical exercise and we need your help to fill in the gaps. Take this survey to help us understand what it’s like to live in the Fraser Canyon and how it could be made be better. Information provided will be summarized in a report and available online at: www.haveyoursay.fvrd.ca/fraser-canyon-completecommunities-study.
Thank you for your time. This survey is expected to take about 10 - 15 minutes to complete. At the end, you may enter the draw for a $100 gift card!
