- All dogs four months or older must have a current licence.
- The two primary sources of municipal funding for animal control come from property taxes and dog licence fees.
- Fees help with adoption and volunteer programs for stray and found lost dogs, veterinarian fees, investigations and patrols.
- A dog wearing a current licence receives one free ride home per calendar year if the owner can be reached within a timely manner.
